Gospel Of Rain #NaPoWriMo Day 25

Photo by Artem Saranin on Pexels.com

All night long I sat up listening to the sky

breaking herself into the day

clapping,moans, and thunderous -bay

causing me to wake, I stood outside

about half- a while,

listening to the sky pray.

eeking,and sinking heavy

emanations abundantly -full

 smiling-rain,

fragrantly , she smelled like roses

picked after -thorns,

she smelled familiar like I knew her,

rain has descendants – tribal lessons on-the-go

on sidewalks you dare not be a child at heart and pass

concrete puddles, splashing into the green-glass,Β

beatitudes of leaks to bless your home,

of wet wood, and floors to drip

O’ you thirsty soul

you will sing -showers of blessings

even me, let some drops now fall on me

Oh, wow, Krissy. I just love this poem so much. I think this has got to be my favourite piece of yours to date. It’s so beautiful and conjures up many lovely visions. I love the sound of rain falling, and even more, I love the smell of the rain as it hits the earth. There’s something really special and sort of comforting about it. Thanks for writing and sharing this lovely piece. Xx ❀ ❀

I love the tribal beats of the rain. This is deep: “listening to the sky pray” is a metaphorical sensation my friend. Yes ma’am this is indeed a celebration of the beatitudes of blessings we experience. Awesome poem Krissy!!! πŸŒ¦πŸŒˆβ˜”πŸ’§β›ˆ

Beautiful. this month has been wonderful. I hope it is only “half-a-while” and that we will be seeing frequent though not quite so much poetry in May.

Really moving, Krissy, and so filled with beautiful images. I’m particularly taken with “I stood outside / about half a-while” and “beatitudes of leaks.” The singing at the beginning and end of the video–perfect!

Goodness, how gorgeous. And the video you made– it was already complete as is, but the video took it to a whole other level. Wow. Thanks for sharing your creative soul with me. Amazing, really. I bless you.xoxo

Congratulations, Krissy! I absolutely love this piece and your work generally. I’ve just been waiting for you to be featured. I adore the sounds and smells of rain, and you’ve captured them so well here. I love your luscious use of echoing vowel sounds (in many of your poems, not just this one). Here’s to rain and this beautiful ode to it, from one rainy city-dweller to another!

    Krissy, Congratulations!

I’m honoured to be sharing the ‘featured’ space with you. Love your poem. In fact, as I’m on holiday for a few days and my writing time is carved out haphazardly, I try to write my poem and then visit others to ensure I don’t miss out on the day’s posting.

What made me smile warmly is the fact that you’ve used ‘drip’ and ‘sidewalk’ in your poem and those images have been in me all day long today. We must be singing the same poetic music in our own corners of the world.

Love your poem, especially this: “rain has descendants – tribal lessons on-the-go”
