I am Eva -former refugee, doctor and a writer. My parents were Holocaust survivors, I escaped communism. I wrote a novel, mixing family stories and fiction. A novel about Holocaust, communism, racism and emigration. What makes people leave, and what happens to the ones who do, and to the ones who stay. I believe these old stories are more important now than ever before.

Dear Krissy. Your video is beautiful and very heart-touching. I’m so sorry you lost your mom and aunt so close together. You must be dealing with an awful lot of grief. And yet, you still manage to continue a relatively contented life. I am sorry for your loss, though. You have so much strength inside and I’m very glad you are beginning to feel stronger in yourself and that your health is getting better. Love to you. Xx πππ

Thank you so much for sharing where you are now and where you have been and your reading from Saltwater on my Knees left me with tears on my face. I’m going to write something not very comforting. I lost my mother in 2011 and there has not been a week pass by that at some point I don’t miss her enough to cry. Deep love brings deep sorrow. Your sharing of this is so amazing.

Beautiful Krissy, and so heartfelt. ππΌ Grief is something we don’t like but we know that we go through it and grow through it one day at a time. So saddened to hear about your mother and aunt. I can connect to your sadness, for I lost my mother almost 20 years ago. Yet, I do not understand the depth of your pain. π’
Please know that there are many of us out here who join you in this grief club that we don’t want to be a part of. Yet, we know God gives us the type of strength to rise up from the ashes of that grief, to be a presence in the time of need for others. Thank you for sharing your passion with us my sister. π€ππ₯° Peace and blessings!

Oh Krissy, you are so very welcome and I humbly receive your blessed wishes. Sometimes, when we are going through some painful things, like grief for instance, we think we are alone. Yet there are so many people on this trek, but we seem to handle it quite differently. But sistah, we are still here. Your mother and aunt, just like my loved ones who left here during the pandemic have passed on the baton to us and we still have more work to do. Yet while they aren’t here physically, their presence lingers. Thank God we can still feel! Sending you lots of love my friend. π€ππ₯° Have a FANtabulous day! π

What a moving video, Krissy. That is very hard, to have your mom and your aunt die on the same die. My heart and my sympathy go out to you.
